WOODHAVEN, 11.26.2024 — The Woodhaven Workforce Development Center is proud to announce its upcoming grand opening, celebrating a vital step forward in empowering individuals with disabilities and neurodivergence. The ribbon-cutting ceremony will mark the start of a new chapter in providing inclusive, tailored workforce development services designed to meet the diverse strengths and needs of our community.
This center reflects the powerful merger of two impactful programs: Encircle Technologies, which has provided specialized training and resources for autistic and neurodivergent individuals, and the equally dedicated and hard-working Community Employment Services team, which has long supported individuals in overcoming barriers to employment. Together, these teams bring an unmatched level of expertise and passion to empowering individuals with disabilities to succeed in the workforce.
"We are excited to invite everyone to the grand opening of the Woodhaven Workforce Development Center," said Dr. Joy Sweeney, Chief Executive Officer. "We are so happy to empower individuals, foster equity and inclusion in the workforce, and connect talented individuals with opportunities to thrive!”
“We are thrilled to see the culmination of so much effort and vision come together,” said Tara Shade, Director of Workforce Development and Encircle. “The merging of Encircle Technologies with our Community Employment Services team demonstrates the strength of collaboration and our shared commitment to centering the strengths of disabled individuals while equipping them with the tools they need to thrive. This partnership represents years of dedication, and I’m deeply grateful to my incredible team and the unwavering support of Joy and Greg, whose leadership has been instrumental in making this dream a reality. Together, we are creating spaces where barriers are broken, talents are celebrated, and futures are transformed.”
