Possible SOLUTION to US Military Veterans Homelessness

Posted February 20, 2026 by Hugh009

Every night in the USA over 32,000 US military veterans are homeless! Hugh Simpson may have the solution after being involved helping with this tragic travesty for 20 years.

The first time Hugh Simpson encountered veterans being homeless was twenty years ago when he was Commander of the Sons of the American Legion Post 66.

"I along with other members of the post went out into the nearby woods of Avondale Estates, GA, where we found homeless veterans living in tents and even cardboard boxes!," says 79 years young Simpson. "Interestingly the majority had no problem with their situation; however we did leave a card that had helpful resources if they decided to change their minds."

For long time serial entrepreneur and former Post Newsweek TV Group investigative reporter this became a mission to see how he could provide more help.

"I later met several retired successful veterans, who also wanted to help their fellow veterans," continues Simpson. "They had some great ideas and though today many can't actively participate I have used many of the ideas in the possible SOLUTION."

"Many years later I became friends with Delle Taylor, whose daughter is recently retired Congresswoman Marge Taylor Greene. Delle was involved with the Atlanta Missions' Potter House program teaching financial literacy. I went with her several times to Jefferson, Georgia to see the incredible 500 acre farm, dormitory, and classrooms, where young men with addictions to alcohol and drugs were going through their program."

Now Simpson had the necessary processes to begin what he calls Promised Land Villages™ Veterans Project.

"I realized as a real estate developer and owner of a tiny home manufacturing business that it was so important to especially use Christian counseling for addictions like Potter House does along with Delle Taylor's financial literacy course and have added job interviewing skills, computer literacy, organic gardening, raising chickens and entrepreneurship."

"This will be a four to six months course, where the veterans are housed on a 5 to 10 acres facility with a dormitory, classrooms, mess hall, gym, and recreation center. Men and women will be on separate stays. Also it is very important that these veterans have no way to get any alcohol or drugs."

Simpson was going to set this set up as his own nonprofit; however he decided to let others do it in their areas.

"It's very important that those, who think they want to get involved have their own nonprofit, where they have to raise their own funds," explains Simpson. "I want them to realize this not an easy journey. Yes, I will provide support with a step-by-step process and be available for FREE consulting along with Adam, my banker, who will do what Delle does and Dave, who has had extensive computer experience including his own repair store. Fortunately through Zoom we can have weekly meetings and I can bring in other experts. I will gladly offer to teach what I have learned from working with veterans homelessness for 20 years and my 50 plus years as an entrepreneur."

Simpson has put together a PDF that further explains everything that he will gladly send to any interested parties. You can email him at [email protected] Subject: Homeless Veterans Project.

"Most importantly I want everyone involved to share their thoughts and ideas as we hopefully develop Promised Land Villages™ Veterans Projects across the USA," says Simpson, who is a devout Christian.
