Oct 2021, Rishikesh: The 'Tridosha' theory of Ayurveda is an effective Ayurveda Therapist course for a healthy and happy living. This theory describes how a human body is governed by the three doshas called Vata, Pitta and Kapha. Each dosha corresponds to the personality traits and physical well-being of a person. However, any aggravation or imbalance in any of the doshas may lead to serious health and mental ailments. It is, therefore, a matter of concern to keep an adequate balance of all the doshas in the body for a prosperous, cheerful and healthy life. This article gives an overview to the body types that are classified on the basis of the three doshas and how few simple lifestyle changes can help in maintaining a perfect dosha balance.
Vata Type Body
Vata dosh is governed by space and air elements. It directs the all movement of muscles, nerve impulses and thoughts. When balanced in the body, vata people are funny, vibrant, expressive and lively. While its imbalance leads to depression, insomnia, impulsiveness and fatigue.
Common Signs Of Vata Imbalance:
Weakness in organs and tissues
Gas, bloating & constipation
Arthritis
Weight loss
Nervous system disorders
Ayurvedic Tips For Balancing Vata:
Avoid consumption of astringent, bitter and spicy food.
Consume sweet, sour, warm, moist and easily digestible food.
Eat boiled or steamed starchy vegetables, broccoli, cauliflower and zucchini.
Take nourishing soups, dahls and casseroles.
Intake of camomile, ginger, fennel, liquorice and lemon tea is good.
Use mild spices like cumin, cinnamon, fennel, ginger, cardamom, cloves, etc., in cooking.
Daily massage with Vata oil is recommended.
Maintain a healthy sleeping routine.
Consume Vata pacifying herbs like Ashwagandha, haritaki, dashamoola and licorice root.
Pitta Type Body
Pitta dosha is governed by the element of fire. It is the principle of heat, digestion and body transformation. It controls stomach acid secretion, liver bile and body inflammation. When balanced, pitta people are sharp, intelligent, judgmental and workaholic. While its imbalance causes ulcers, heartburn, insomnia, vision problems, etc.
