Kodland, a London-based online educational platform for children, entering Mexican market. Today the company assists over 18,000 students in the CIS countries, UK, Poland, Italy, Indonesia, Philippines, Turkey, Spain, Chile, Peru, and Uruguay to master current creative digital professions. Every month this number is growing by 1.5-2 thousand new customers.

About Kodland

Kodland, a London-based online educational platform for children, provides an opportunity to develop future-proof skills in two key areas - programming and creativity (illustrations, animation, video editing, and blogging).

Kodland’s highly engaging result-oriented study format enables their students to develop a commercial website or a blog, or launch their own game, which could be monetized via Google play or Appstore.

During the four years of its existence, the startup raised $9M in financing. Kismet, one of the investors in the rounds, finalized its exit from the company, which was initiated in the fall of 2022.

The startup is led by the co-founder and CEO Alex Nosulich, сo-founder and CPO Oleg Kheyfets, as well as CMO Irina Khodeeva.

Kodland's strategy for succeeding in new markets

First, the team analyzes the size of the market and the number of potential customers. Then they accomplish a marketing test (providing a free lesson) to check the cost and quality of leads. Depending on the results, the founders decide whether or not to launch a product in a new location. After Kodland has conducted a few trial lessons, the full training is launched and the retention is evaluated.

If the test results are upbeat, Kodland hires a team of local employees who function to increase conversions and brand awareness. The first staff members are the call center manager, customer support, sales manager, and teachers. These must be specialists who understand local peculiarities, language, and business rules.

‘’Entering new markets, we set a global goal - to become a monopolist in teaching children relevant professions. Our main advantage is our own platform and brave vision of turning children's dreams into real digital products. In each country, we adapt the program to the local audience. For instance, we use examples from local children's cartoons in our teaching’’, shares Alex Nosulich, CEO of Kodland.

Talking about nearest future plans, Kodland prepares to expand its presence in the markets of Argentina and Mexico.
