In an interview with ABS-CBN News Channel, Joblu’s Founder & CEO Abhii Dabas shares his job market outlook for 2023 amid recession fears — Gen Zs are in demand.

Joblu, a candidate-first job matching platform, is set to change the game for job seekers and employers alike. Joblu’s Founder & CEO Abhii Dabas shared in an interview with ANC news that the platform's outlook for 2023 remains positive despite the ongoing economic slowdown and recession in the West. He emphasized that the job market is still strong, with many vacancies across various sectors, especially due to a demand for Gen Z professionals.

Dabas also shared that Joblu is taking a more proactive approach to recruitment, with the app’s visual, fast, fun, and free features. The platform utilizes a seven-step matchmaking process that includes AI technology, an elevator pitch feature, automated mock interviews, and employer branding. In the future, Joblu will even allow users to anonymize their profiles and take training and assessments.

According to Dabas, Joblu projects healthy numbers from a 10 to 15 percent success rate in matching, and 30 to 35 percent of positive interactions between employers and job seekers. He also detailed how there are between 5,000 to 7,000 jobs available on the platform for the 100,000+ candidates. For Dabas, he envisions a job market that doesn’t discriminate against fresh graduates for their lack of experience, and is taking action by providing them with tools and resources to equip them in the long run.

"We want to create a world where candidates can truly express themselves and employers would hire them for their potential." - Abhii Dabas

Although Joblu veered away from providing traditional resumes on its platform, it still provides factual information on the candidate’s experience, skills, education. Dubbed as the “Resume Killer”, Joblu aims to provide more than what a CV can bring. With that, candidates can answer questions on their values and preferences to promote culture fit. However, Dabas emphasized the use of the JobReel feature which provides employers a better sense of what the candidate is like.

As of now, the application is free for users, but employers can subscribe for unlimited job postings and candidate interactions, as well as access to employer branding and social media reach.

Joblu's name stands for jobs and learning for you with a mission to help candidates find the right job and continuously learn and equip themselves. With the workplace continuing to evolve, Joblu is an exciting and promising solution that offers a new approach to job hunting that caters to Gen Z professionals' preferences and values.
