People want to burn more fat for a number of reasons: for body shaping, for health and wellbeing, for weight loss, for sporting purposes, and so on. Building muscle is commonly associated with weight training and fat loss. Your body’s metabolism of fat is speeded up, and your body burns calories more efficiently. To further demonstrate, imagine 2 racing cars, one big and the other small. The big car has a small engine, while the smaller car has huge engine. Which of these cars you believe will run faster? From the example given, your engine is your muscle mass. It must be large but in proportion to your body, to make you a better machine.

When you build muscle mass through weight training, your muscles need to maintain themselves, so they actually eat up the calories from your food. So there will be fat loss, no fat to lie around and accumulate in your body. Try lowering your intake of calories a bit, and some of your body fats will be eaten up by your new muscle mass. However you should not do it drastically, but gradually, so as not to make your muscles shrink. Your body might also be afraid to be starved, and begin storing extra fat.

The best way to practice weight training for fat loss is to use an amount of weight that is light or medium, and to do lots of repetitions. Your muscles will feel burning, and you’ll find it difficult to do the last 3 or 4 repetitions. Breezing through it may give you the aerobic effect, so it will be better to cool down as you will feel your heart rate increase for an hour or longer. Some people are not comfortable with machines containing heavy weight plates, and dumbbells. You can find products that can use as resistance to your own body weight.

People who are into weight training for fat loss sleep more peacefully generally than those who don’t. Probably the most logical explanation to this is that the human body makes repairs and restorations in itself during the time that it is resting. Otherwise, the body mechanism that burns fat will be working less optimally. Body organs that are well rested become equipped to better take care of their functions. If you don’t sleep well, you can change this by starting weight training.

Athletes spend most of their time inside a gym, because they believe that building strength and muscle mass allow them to increase their physical abilities. If you are a tennis player, for example, and you train yourself by just playing the game and doing drills, you might have improved agility, but not how you serve. To give a serve that will earn you a point, you must strengthen the muscles of your shoulders, torso, arms and legs. There are many ways to do this and you can play more explosively by hitting the ball harder. This can burn fat and calories as you play. It is also less likely that you will get injured, so sitting in your sofa for two weeks or more will never happen.
