Montclare Children’s School, located in Manhattan’s Upper West Side, presents their students with a wide variety of after-school programs in the 2015 spring semester.

Montclare Children’s School, an acclaimed private preschool in Manhattan’s Upper West Side, is offering a variety of on-site after-school programs for its spring semester this year. The programs are available from February 9, 2015 to May 29, 2015. Two or more program options are available for each day of the week and the classes are being conducted from 02:45 pm to 03:30 pm in the afternoon.
Montclare Children’s School is known for its unique early childhood education program that includes a thoughtfully-designed separation process aimed at easing new students’ separation anxiety. The school places great emphasis into incorporating play into the curricula so as to help the child explore the world and learn new things through experience.
The after-school enrichment classes are held every spring and fall semester. The classes for this spring semester include a host of different classes to choose from, covering varying genres of activity including arts and crafts, the performing arts, languages, sports and fitness and self-defense.
A representative from Montclare comments: “We think that young minds are quite impressionable and benefit greatly from enriching co-curricular activities. Our afterschool programs are all designed while keeping the physical and cognitive existing abilities and further development of young children in mind. For instance, our after-school sports programs offer a positive and supportive environment to our budding athletes that is specifically tailored to their abilities.”
Children interested in performing arts opprotunitees can enroll for ballet classes held on Mondays. Acclaimed American Ballet Theatre principal ballerina, Julie Kent, teaches 4-5 year-olds in these classes. Another option for students is an after-school program called ‘Jazz Hands’. This program is available on Wednesdays for 3-5 year-olds and includes theatre games, music and movement. The ‘Jazz Hands’ program helps children gain confidence and develop creativity as they are involved in producing and performing a show at the end of the semester.
The various sports that Montclare Children’s School offers to students after school include soccer, golf, basketball, tennis and fencing. A physical fitness and self-defense class called the International Krav Maga NYC is also available and is held on Fridays for children who are 3.5 - 5 years old. These classes are aimed at improving the child’s balance, self-esteem, self-discipline and focus. The Krav Maga classes also help develop the child’s intuition and general confidence and well-being.
Montclare Children’s School continues to boast one of the most diverse and enriching early childhood education programs available in NYC. The school’s art and music studios along with its gyms and rooftop play-spaces help make it an apt choice for fostering the all-round growth and development of the child.
