[Provo, November 5, 2015] – The Heritage Treatment Center enables children to rebuild their lives through gender specific treatment. The program focuses on building relationships, becoming healthy family members and varied activities that help children plan for their future.

Heritage for Boys

The Heritage Treatment Center has a master plan with specific goals for each boy that participates. The center assesses their needs and discusses with the team, the students, parents and other professionals. The individual, family and group sessions, and the academics and family mentoring focus on the objectives for each child to get the best possible results.

The relationships that the center builds are one of its foundations; their family mentors have the training and certification for creating consistent affective interactions with healthy boundaries and consequences. As the boys establish relationships, they learn to trust others and themselves again.

The Heritage Treatment Center provides boys with a healthy dose of recreational and outdoor activities. In the program, students discover new interests and hone their talents during on- and off-campus programs that include hiking, mountain biking, skiing and team sports. They also participate in age-appropriate coed activities that develop social skills.

Heritage for Girls

The girls’ program at Heritage teaches students to respect others and themselves and develop self-esteem. Through personalized sessions, residential care and planned programs, girls at the center reduce negative behaviors because of their understanding of intrinsic values.

Relationship concepts are at the heart of Heritage’s success; the certified family mentors establish relationships that have healthy boundaries and consequences to help students. The girls regain trust in themselves and others through the relationships they build and rebuild.

Students live in a home-like residence with 10 to 12 girls in the same age group supervised by family mentors 24/7 under the direction of two Home Leads and the Home Director. These mentors act as the parents of the home. Students learn respect, discipline and responsibility during their time.

The holistic approach provided by Heritage enables boys and girls to regain trust in themselves and others. The program rebuilds lives and enables participants to plan their future.
