Plastic surgery – like many other medical treatments— involves certain risks that you should know and understand. Plastic surgery is not an exact science. Even under the most optimal medical and surgical conditions, it is impossible to predict how particular organism can respond to medical treatment. The patient's decision to undergo surgery should be based on the ratio of risk versus potential benefit. No surgeon wants a complication in the middle of an operation. That is why as a preventive measure the medical team is ahead of any eventuality and takes the necessary measures that anticipate the problem. Thanks to the preoperative preparation and pre-anesthetic assessment carried out as part of the surgical protocol, the incidence of surgical complications is so low. However, it is the duty of the doctor advises you of the potential risks of any surgery. In fact, the risks can vary in relation to the magnitude of the surgical procedure. Additionally, the difficulty of the lesion to be corrected, and of course, the characteristics of the patient should be considered too. So, you must remember that all surgeries have any kind of risk. Though, any risk is preventable.
