Many long distance runners turn to swimming for this reason as it is an exercises that focuses on endurance and breath.

Michael Milnes also explains that elastic band workouts are another great way to heal after sustaining an injury. Workout bands come in a variety of sizes and strengths depending upon your activity level, and you can easily work your way up to tougher bands during your recovery process.
