On the heels of a new analysis of remote jobs, the CEO of a recruitment service said remote work in the USA seems to be headed in the right direction. Remote Worker is an online jobs board and resource website for remote workers, remote work jobseekers, and hiring managers, employers and HR personnel seeking to recruit and hire the top talent for remote positions. The group’s CEO, Joseph Boll, said marked growth in not just interest for remote jobs but also listings for remote jobs is a positive sign for the remote work market.

“There has been a lot of speculation on the issue,” said Boll. “Between RTO and some reports that remote work is ending, the opposite is, again, appearing to be the case.”

Remote work has remained incredibly popular among the US workforce, Boll noted. Countless studies have shown that remote work is the most popular job benefit for millions of Americans, with some saying they would quit rather than return to office while others maintain they would accept a pay cut for the chance to work remotely. Major websites have noted that remote jobs are being searched for more frequently, they’re getting the vast majority of applicants even though they have a smaller percentage of job listings and some workers — especially younger jobseekers, such as Generation Z — are refusing to even consider jobs that don’t offer at least some form of remote work.

Further, new research indicates that industries that weren’t typically known for remote jobs have actually grown over the last year, posting more remote job listings than ever before. Industries like IT, marketing and project management are known to have a fairly high percentage of remote jobs. But now, fields like accounting, finance, legal and communications are all seeing growth in remote job offerings (FlexJobs).

“This signals that the era of remote work is far from over,” said the RemoteWorker CEO. “In fact, even in the face of a possible recession, people are still demanding remote work and refusing to settle for less. This trend likely isn’t going to change, and right-thinking businesses should do their best to adjust.”
