Embracing flexibility is key for employers who want to stay competitive in the current work environment, whether it comes to offering more flexible work options or taking the hiring process online. New research has revealed that not only is remote work among the top factors driving competition, but online job boards are proving to be the most effective recruiting tool in a post-COVID labour market. From a jobseeker perspective, this also means “hitting the pavement” may no longer be a particularly effective way to find a job.

Joseph Boll, CEO of RemoteWorker.jobs, says this shows exactly how sites like his can help companies beat out the competition in an increasingly digital era. Remote Worker is an online jobs board and resource site dedicated to remote workers — and those seeking remote jobs — in the US.

“One of the best ways to find remote workers,” says the CEO, is to look online, of course. With RemoteWorker.jobs, that’s exactly how it works. New research has shown that online job boards are a major hub for recruitment after COVID. This is all the more reason why employers should be making use of services like ours.

“At the same time, it shows jobseekers how it’s actually in their best interest to leverage websites like Remote Worker and LinkedIn to position themselves exactly where recruiters are looking.”

Boll asserts, “Remote work is here to stay, and we’ve been strong supporters of that even before the pandemic. Now, it’s up to businesses, employees and jobseekers to adjust.”

Recently published data from Monster, one of the world’s biggest employment websites, found that “resume search tops the list of most effective online job board tools (40 percent), across all markets” when it comes to digital recruitment. When asked to identify “the most effective resource for finding quality candidates”, 29 percent of employers said job board postings; 28 percent said candidate online profiles; and 27 percent equally said networking and posting on company/career sites.

At the same time, Monster also found that American workers continue to have a strong appetite for remote work. To this end, some 37 percent of companies said they plan to adapt to remote work within the next three to stay more competitive.
