One of the methods of metal stamping kit UK is widely in demand as an inexpensive, productive and efficient way to produce various parts. Despite the fact that the process of stamping is not complex or capacious in terms of technology, it has its own nuances.

There are different types of stamping which differ from each other by the equipment used, methods of preparation and direct processing of metal blanks, as well as the output characteristics of finished metal stamping kit products.

Variety of stamping metal products:

Steel Stamps processes can be aimed at changing the shape of the blanks such as moulding, extrusion, or separation like punching, cutting of sheet metal.

When using sheet metal with a thickness of not more than 6 mm speak of sheet custom metal stamp. If the sheet thickness is larger and also if non-sheet metal blanks are used, then such stamping is called bulk. For different types of stamping, two technologies are used: cold and hot.

Hot stamping of metal products:

The main difference between hot stamping and cold is the preheating of the metal billet. Metal under the influence of high temperature softens which facilitates its processing, but it does not melt to a liquid state, as in the technology of casting metal products. Before processing the raw material, metal is cut into blanks of specified sizes.

Hot die forging is performed using a stamp. This tool gives the desired shape to the blanks, so there are cavities and protrusions on it that the soft hot metal fills during processing.

The metal is heated in furnaces that are powered by electricity. It is because of the need to maintain the operation of the furnaces, high energy consumption, as well as special requirements for the equipment of the workshops, hot stamping is considered to be costly and expensive. However, in some cases, the manufacture of certain products is possible only by hot stamping technology.

Cold stamping of metal products:

Cold sheet stamping is used without preheating the blanks. It is used for processing sheet metal with a thickness of not more than 6 mm. For the production of cold stamping, it is used most often a hydraulic press.

Varieties of presses used in the processing of blanks, depending on what technology and type of processing are used trimming, extruding, drawing or other types of stamping. In addition to hydraulic presses, complex pneumatic presses and friction presses can be used in the process of cold stamping. They are used in the manufacture of complex products.
