I Care Atlanta is a 501 (c) 3 Non-Profit Organization devoted to its mission to feed, educate, and reach out to the working poor and homeless men, women, and children in the greater Atlanta Metro area, addressing their personal needs while furthering their opportunities. I Care Atlanta was established in 2006, in Atlanta, GA and since its inception annually they have served more than 5,000 low-income individuals and families a year through their many programs. Many of their program participants have faced homelessness and/or have other needs. The assistance provided to them help further their opportunities and addressed their individual needs to help enable them to take responsibility for themselves and their families. These opportunities includes: Food Distribution Center, free GED Training, Computer training, Financial Literacy and Job Placement assistance and a Mentoring Program.

I Care Atlanta’s Food distribution center serves as a link between the stores and those that suffer from hunger and are in need in the community. The free GED training, Computer Training and Job Placement Assistance programs were developed due to their belief that one of the first steps to improving one’s life is to have adequate education. Finally, the newest program component is the Mentoring Program which was designed as a tool to help maintain accountability for the program participants. The Mentors work with the participants to help ensure that they complete their GED training, obtain employment and secure and maintain housing.
