We all know that food does not just magically appear on shelves in the grocery store or on a plate at a restaurant. It is the result of some of the country’s hardest workers: family farmers. Ervin Zubic is one of those family farmers and he likes to combine spending time on his farm with spending time with his family.
Today’s farmer must take on countless responsibilities in order to run a successful farm. Ervin Zubic is able to do this because his family is there to help take some of the workload. Farmers are the backbone of a community and Ervin Zubic’s family says that he is the backbone of the family. It is important to Ervin Zubic to have his family’s help on the farm. Not only does it provide good exercise, but it is also the perfect classroom.

“I enjoy having the ability to raise my kids on a farm,” says Ervin Zubic, “It gives them the opportunity to see exactly where their food comes from.”
Having a healthy and nutritious farm is important to Ervin Zubic. He is able to make sure that his family stays healthy by providing the best quality food he can. He is also helping his children to make wise decisions when it comes to food so that when they are on their own, Ervin Zubic knows they will make healthy choices.

“If you spend the time raising and growing your own food, you will appreciate it more,” says Ervin Zubic. “That’s what I am trying to instill in my kids: the benefits of hard work.”

But family life is not all farming to Ervin Zubic. He enjoys spending time with his family away from the farm as well. They enjoy many other activities, such as swimming and going to the movies. But Ervin Zubic says that the best bonding experiences are on the farm.

“We make our best memories out in those fields,” says Ervin Zubic, “It gives us a chance to really get to know each other in a way other families do not get to experience.”

Ervin Zubic’s family is the most important thing to him and he will do everything he can to ensure that they maintain their strong bond.
