Jeff Castner lets people know about the incredible Sports City that Indianapolis is.

Jeff Castner is a longtime Indianapolis resident and he knows that the area is host to many sporting events. The largest sporting event in the world in terms of attendance is the Indianapolis 500. Beyond that, numerous other sporting events take place in the city:

The Indianapolis Colts play out of Lucas Oil Field and are one of the town’s favorite teams. They are proud of their team and get a little crazy on game day.

The Indiana Pacers are Indiana’s Professional basketball Team. In the past 24 years, the Pacers did not make the playoffs only 6 times and the team knows that fans expect them to win.

The Indiana Fever is a professional Women's basketball team located in Indianapolis. In 2012 the Fever won their first WNBA Title.

Indianapolis also has numerous professional soccer teams such as The Indy Eleven, FC Indiana (women and men teams)

Jeff Castner understands that Indianapolis also hosts the main governing bodies for both the NCAA and the NFHS, as well as three division one universities and a division two university located in the area. The universities all have a long history of success in the area including:

The most storied of these universities is Butler University and the Hinkle Field House. The Hinkle Field house was for many decades the largest sports arena of its kind. It was finished being built in 1928 and is still in use today. In 1986 the movie Hoosiers was filmed inside the field house and today it is in the national register of historic places. The Butler basketball and baseball teams regularly compete in postseason play.

IUPUI is a campus in Indianapolis which has both Indiana University and Purdue University joined together. They share much including sports teams. The IUPUI Jaguars compete in division one sports.

The one NAIA school in Indianapolis is Marian University, Jeff Castner’s alma mater.

In addition to the many sports teams in Indianapolis, the motor speedway, and the college and high school governing bodies, Indianapolis also is host to the NCAA Hall of Fame where many incredible moments from college athletics history are captured.
