Installing a safe in your home is a great way to keep valuables protected. If you are interested in installing your own home safe , let us give you a few tips on how to install one the correct way. If it is not installed correctly then what is the use of the safe in the first place? (click here to see the review)

1. Decide where you would like to install your safe. Depending on the type of safe you have purchased, there are many different things to look for. If you have purchased a wall safe, you may want to install it behind a picture or in a closet. If it is a floor safe, you may want to place it on top of a cabinet or in a secure room. You will also want to ensure that the spot you choose is able to hold the weight of the safe.

2. Make sure that in case of an emergency, you will have a clear path to your safe. If there is a fire or any other problem in your home where you must grab your valuables quickly and escape, you will not want any counter tops or difficult stairs in your way.

3. If you have purchased a large safe, figure out how you will get the safe inside the home and area you plan on storing it.
4. If the safe was used in a previous area, make sure to clean the safe out before moving it. You will not want your valuables tossed around in the process of moving.

5. Make sure you have enough manpower to move the safe. Most safes are fairly heavy and will involve more than one person to move it.

6. After you have chosen the resting place of your safe and have moved it into the correct area, then follow the directions that are given to you with the safe. You will most likely need a few tools such as a drill, screws and possibly a hammer if you are installing it into a wall.

7. Lastly, set your code. Make it something easy enough for you to remember but not so easy that anyone could guess your pass code. Many suggest using an important date in your life such as a birthday or anniversary.

As you can see, installing a safe in your home is a lot of work. If you do not have the time or patience to install one yourself, you may want to call a locksmith in your area. Most locksmiths in New Jersey have been trained in installing home safes. They will also be able to help you decide on a good spot for it and help you pick out one that best suits your needs.
