To achieve the best learning outcomes for students, educators must stay updated on the latest research, technologies, and educational practices. As one of the top schools in Greater Noida West, The Millennium School is deeply invested in the professional development of teachers. The "Professional Learning Week" held at the campus this December, highlighted the recent developments in education.

It started with an inspirational session by Ms. Kalpana Kapoor (Edupreneur, Mentor & Leadership Coach) on "Connecting The Dots: Exploring Linkages Between NEP & CBSE Initiatives." It helped teachers understand and implement the best practises mentioned in National Education Policy 2020 inside classrooms.

The second day saw a riveting session by Mr. Balram Khurana (Regional Manager, EDAC) on "Strategies For Encouraging Experiential Learning Inside Classrooms." It emphasised sensory, mindful, and experiential learning so that students could retain concepts and get intrinsically motivated to explore further. Teachers participated in engaging activities to experience learning from the students’ viewpoints.

Dr. Nishi Phogat (Academic Consultant & CBSE Teacher Facilitator) led hands-on training on "National Curriculum Framework 2022: How Does It Affect Teaching & Learning In The Early Years?" It aimed to integrate practical activities from various domains in order to encourage learners' multiple learning styles.

Realising the importance of creating a safe and welcoming environment for students outside of their homes, the school organised a workshop on the "POCSO Act" (Protection of Children from Sexual Offenses). Ms. Gagandeep Kaur (Child & Clinical Psychologist, Director, Unique Psychological Services) informed educators about POCSO laws and preventive measures for sexual offences against children. Another engaging session on "Questioning Skills" by Mr. Aneesh Bangia (Co-founder, Opendoor Education) inspired the pursuit of curiosity. Educators learned about using open-ended questions for assessing students’ knowledge and encouraging deep thinking.

The professional learning week concluded with an informative session by Dr. Himani Tyagi (Principal, TMS) and Ms. Ritu Gupta (Coordinator-Academics & Professional Development, TMS) on "Competency-based Assessments & Questioning Skills." It highlighted the needs, differences, and importance of summative and formative assessments. Teachers learned how to align school assessments with CBSE board examinations to prepare students for the future.

With initiatives like these, The Millennium School, GNW, aims to facilitate the consistent professional development of educators. We believe that ensuring the growth of educators will improve students' academic performance.
