In today's fast-changing world, gender equality and women's empowerment are not just nice—something better; they are indispensable pillars of an equal and progressive world. It is not only a question of justice but also an unavoidable engine of economic growth, social progress, and international peace.

Women empowerment is the process of providing women with tools, means, and opportunities to own their lives and make independent decisions. The faster development and improved governance occur in countries with more gender equality. Women's empowerment unleashes the capabilities of half the population, propelling success for everybody.

Governments, NGOs, communities, and even individuals can all contribute their bit. Policy needs to support women's equality in the form of equal pay, maternity rights, and protection against anti-discrimination. Simultaneously, day-to-day action—that is, assisting at home or resisting sexist comments—amounts to lasting change.

Finally, gender equality and women empowerment are women's issues—they are issues of human beings. We all have to join forces to ensure that every girl and woman has dignity, opportunity, and freedom to develop.
