The first Indo-Wyoming Business and Culture Exchange Center was inaugurated today at Koregaon Park. His Excellency, Governor of Wyoming (USA) Matt Mead visited Pune for the function. Bhavook Tripathi, Bharatiya Janata Party MLC Shrikant Joshi and Dr. Sheshadri Chari were present on stage for the inauguration ceremony. The Governor said that he was overwhelmed by the hospitality that he had received in Pune.

In order to tap into the vast potential that exists in bringing together Indian and American thought processes and strengths, the University, the State of Wyoming (USA) and Mr. Bhavook Tripathi, through his associated companies, have decided to establish an Indo-Wyoming Business & Cultural Exchange Center across four locations in India. The first of these is being inaugurated in Pune city.

The aim behind establishing this center is to tap into the vast potential of both sides with regard to business and culture and to bring together Indo-U.S. thought processes. The center will have a dedicated staff which will provide help and assistance with regard to information about tourism, education and business in the State of Wyoming (USA).

Pune is the educational and cultural capital of Maharashtra. Hundreds of youngsters from Pune each year aspire to pursue higher education abroad especially in the United States. The Indo-Wyoming business and cultural exchange center would be a valuable source of information for the students from Pune who wish to study in the U.S. especially in the state of Wyoming.
The Governor said, ‘’Wyoming is large geographically but has a small population and can provide great opportunities for Indian business in fields of agriculture, sustainable development and material science.’’
The Governor further mentioned that aeroponics and hydroponics farming which will be promoted by the center will definitely aid farmers in Maharashtra and the other cities where similar such centers are to be setup.
Bhavook Tripathi, CEO of Bramh Corporation said, ‘’The Wyoming State University has conducted research on crops that do not require an abundant supply of water. Utilization of this technology by the agricultural sector in India will indeed give a boost to their long term prospectives.’’
Ex. MLC Mr. Shrikant Joshi (BJP) said, ‘’ The drought prone regions of Maharashtra like Marathwada can definitely reap the benefits of the research conducted by Wyoming State University.’’
The Indo-Wyoming center will be making efforts to set up similar centers in Marathwada and other regions of Maharashtra which are experiencing scarcity of water due to drought.
Wyoming (USA) and India both have a lot to offer to each other as far as business is concerned. Wyoming is rich in natural resources such as oil, natural gas, and especially coal, which powers the economy. The State has 32nd largest Sovereign fund on the planet worth more than $30 billion dollars, largely due to these natural resources. The state is now looking to diversify its economy and India can play a crucial role in this process.

With regard to culture, Wyoming can be a hot destination for tourism. With a large number of Indian expatriates in the U.S and a large number of Indians residing abroad, Indian tourists will surely find it a pleasant destination to visit. Some tourist destinations in Wyoming are the George Washington Memorial Park, Wyoming Frontier Prison and Yellowstone National Park etc. It is known for its sprawling spaces, mountain ranges and grassy plains. It also has a low population density.

As far as India is concerned, it is the second fastest growing market in Asia in terms of its need for healthcare, environment, energy infrastructure and defense. Thus U.S companies and firms will definitely find India a good market to invest; therefore, it is without a doubt that such co-operation will benefit both countries significantly.

About Aeroponics Farming: It is a method of growing plants without soil and with minimal use of water and is an effective and efficient way of growing a wide variety of plants. Using this method plants can be grown vertically as well as horizontally, so it can be a great way of saving space.
About Hydroponics Farming: Hydroponics may simply be described as growing plants with nutrients and water, and without soil. The water must be delivered to the plant root system. The root system may hang directly in the nutrient solution, be misted by it, or can be enclosed within a container or a trough which is filled with a substrate [a replacement for soil].
