Bei einem solch martialischen Äußeren ist die Sorge über ein versehentliches Fallenlassen weitaus geringer als bei üblichen Smartphones. Was jedoch ein Highlight sein könnte, ist die nach bisherigen Informationen fast 1:1 übernommene Hardware vom Galaxy S5 wie ein Benchmark erst kürzlich enthüllte. Sowohl ein 2,5 GHz starker Snapdragon 801 Quad-Core als auch 1 GB Arbeitsspeicher, 16 GB interner Flash-Speicher mit MicroSD-Speicherkartenslot und die 16 Megapixel ISOCELL-Kamera finden sich in dem Gerät wieder. Selbst das hochgelobte Super-AMOLED-Display des Galaxy S5 soll verbaut sein und das wäre ein sehr willkommenes Upgrade. Das Galaxy S4 Active musste letztes Jahr noch mit einem LC-Display auskommen.Wie so oft in der Vergangenheit wurde das GIF-Bild mit der Rundumansicht des HTC One M8 Prime von Evan Blass veröffentlicht, der durch seinen Twitter-Account @evleaks große Bekanntheit erlangte. Das Bild selbst gibt Einblicke in das Design des Smartphones, welches unverkennbar die Designsprache des normalen HTC One M8 nutzt.

Dass das Thema auch rechtlich und gesetzlich nicht immer einfach ist, zeigen auch Beispiele wie die Verfügbarkeit von Serien auf dem Apple TV auf oder etwa die Lizenzlage bei Sky und dessen Serienausstrahlungen. Bis vor wenigen Wochen war es nicht möglich Serien direkt auf dem Apple TV abzurufen in Deutschland, dazu fehlten einfach die entsprechenden Rechte, schließlich ist das Apple TV wieder ein anderes Ausstrahlungsgerät als ein iPhone oder iPad oder der heimische Rechner. In Frankreich ist es sogar so, dass Filme erst 3 Jahre nach deren Erstausstrahlung im Kino bei VoD-Diensten angeboten werden dürfen. Ein weiteres Beispiel ist die wohl aktuell beliebteste US-Serie von HBO "Game of Thones", welche exklusiv zu erst bei Sky via Sky Go zu sehen ist, ab dem 2. Juni wird diese auch direkt auf Sky Atlantic HD zu sehen sein. Denn nicht jede Lizenz beinhaltet auch die direkte Ausstrahlung über alle Optionen wie etwa das klassische TV-Format. Diese und unzählige weitere Beispiele zeigen auf wie kompliziert die Lizenzfrage ist, aber auch gesetzliche Aspekte können eine Rolle spielen.
