What is Pitra Dosh?
Pitra Dosh is one of the most debated concepts in Vedic astrology, as many astrologers describe it as an ancestor's curse, and suggest appropriate to fulfill and satisfy the ancestors in turn for them to abandon their curse.
Pitra Dosh is not the expletive/curse of the ancestors, but it is the curse of the native's ancestors who have this flaw in their horoscope. It means that one of the native's ancestors committed bad luck, and the native must pay the consequences. As a result, remedies for this defect, such as Pitra Dosh nivaran puja, should not be done with the intention of satisfying the ancestors, but rather with the intention of relieving the ancestors of their karmic debts so that the native may feel relieved as well.

Pitra Dosh can be caused by any one of the following factors:
•Our ancestors' evil deeds (bad karma) from a previous life
•Children's evil deeds (bad karma) hurt the ancestors' souls, whether consciously or unknowingly.

•Abortions that are performed on purpose will result in Pitra Dosha.
•Any relative or ancestor who died suddenly and unnaturally at a young age
•If someone fails to properly remember and honour their ancestors
