Essmak.com presents a solution for concerned parents to minimize the risks

April 4, 2015, Beirut –The phenomenon of children suffering from food allergies is increasingly common in the modern world. Indeed, the numbers of children with food allergies are thought to be at least as high as one in every 12, meaning that in every classroom, at least two children could be affected. And it’s a phenomenon that seems to be growing with one study, for example, showing an increase of 50% in food allergies in children between 1997 and 2011.

Some of the most common allergy-producing foods include peanuts, eggs, milk and milk products, as well as soy, fish and seafood. Such foods that are harmless to the majority of the population can cause a reaction in allergy-prone children, leading to the release of the chemical histamine and producing symptoms such as hives or swelling. In some cases, more severe, life-threatening reactions can be experienced, making it imperative that all those involved in the person’s life are aware of the lethal risk of exposure. Indeed, an allergic reaction can be promoted without even digesting the food, but simply by touching or inhaling its particles.

Parents of children with allergies are naturally concerned that the risk to their children be minimized during times when they are beyond their care, such as at nursery, school or on outings. With just this in mind, Essmak.com created its Allergy Labels, a convenient pack of12 large allergy labels and 8 round allergy labels. Parents can personalize the labels in a one-click process at Essmak.com so that they arrive ready-printed, displaying their child’s name, and then applied to items such as lunchboxes, cups, bottles and any school items. Alongside the child’s name the allergy information is clearly displayed, alerting others to the necessary foods to be avoided, thus minimizing the risk of, and hopefully preventing, an allergic reaction. One of the great things about Essmak’s labels is that they are designed to be colorful and attractive to kids, making younger ones proud to see anything they own have their name on it. At the same time, Essmak’s Allergy Labels are designed to be highly durable, and will resist the harsh treatment to which kids can subject them. They are also dishwasher, microwave, freezer and sterilizer proof.

Essmak’s Allergy Labels can also be used to alert caregivers and teachers to children’s special dietary requirements that may not necessarily be allergy-producing but should be observed nonetheless. Gluten-free diets and sugar-free diets are increasingly common and Essmak’s Allergy Labels can be personalized to indicate “No sugar” or “No gluten” should be given to the child, alongside their name.
