5th March 2012 - One might be going out to a party and would like a different style to the hair.
One could get a permanent straightening of the hair to reduce the curls or get a one-night stand straightening which could be called retexturing.
Using different Curly hair products, which would help generate a different texture to the hair, would be the key to this technique.
There are many sub techniques in this method but most commonly used products are keratins based. This helps calm down the hair which changes its texture all together. Using curling rods and curling irons could have different effects on the hair. The curling rod and the iron both work on the same principle, of using heat to press down the hair and make it straight. The curling rod is not preferred as the heat distribution is not uniform. The hair might be straightened more in one area and lesser in the other.
When this is compared to the curling iron, heat is dispersed equally throughout the hair and straightening is almost equally distributed through the hair. The curling rod also pulls the hair and sometimes can even burn the hair. The curling iron can be better and uses the same amount of force throughout the hair. Blow drying the hair before curling or de-curling can be better as it keeps the natural form of the hair intact.
A more permanent straightening could be obtained by performing a perm. A perm is defined as a procedure done on the hair such that a permanent wave of hair is produced by the means of use of chemicals and thereby breaking down the chemical bonds in the hair and restructuring them in a different form.
If a perm is too tight and curling down is required, then one could use string to curl down to the necessary tightness. If you shampoo your hair quite often and you find that the perms you had created disappear very soon, then a better technique could be the formation of a beach wave. It uses some special kind of curly hair products which would hold the hair better even as a bath and beach technique.
