ONGC, GAIL, Asian Paints, Adani Ports and Tata Motors are gainers while Axis Bank, ICICI Bank, Wipro, Infosys and TCS are losers in the Sensex.

 
Nifty opens below 8350, Sensex weak; Axis, ICICI, Infosys fall

The market has opened lower on global weakness. The Sensex is down 39.46 points or 0.1 percent at 26995.04 and the Nifty is down 6.00 points at 8343.35. About 456 shares have advanced, 325 shares declined, and 147 shares are unchanged.

ONGC, GAIL, Asian Paints, Adani Ports and Tata Motors are gainers while Axis Bank, ICICI Bank, Wipro, Infosys and TCS are losers in the Sensex.

The Indian rupee opened higher by 13 paise at 68.05 per dollar on Monday against 68.18 Friday.

Share Market Tips Asia markets were mixed on Monday, after a weekend dominated with Donald Trump inauguration headlines, including plans to possible renegotiate the North American Free Trade Agreement and abandon the Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPP) deal.

Crude prices remained steady as Saudi Arabia, Venezuela stressed world energy interdependence. It shrugged off a vow by President Trump to end dependence on the group’s oil, saying the world’s biggest economy would continue to need crude from abroad.

Gold prices are holding on to their gains and are currently trading above 1200 dollar an ounce.

News on BSE IPO

The first initial public offering (IPO) of 2017 will open on January 23. BSE’s IPO, the first by a domestic stock exchange, is aiming to raise Rs 1,243 crore through its issue, which will close on January 25. The bourse has fixed the price band at Rs 805-806 per share.

Future Tips The IPO of 15,427,197 shares of face value of Rs 2 each, will constitute up to 28.26 percent of the fully-diluted post offer issued share capital of BSE. Bids for the issue can be made for a minimum of 18 shares and in multiples of 18.

It has raised Rs 373 crore by allotting shares to anchor investors Goldman Sachs Asset Management, ICICI Prudential Mutual Fund, Kotak Mutual Fund, Citigroup, IDFC Mutual Fund, DSP Blackrock, Capital World, Reliance Capital Trustee Company and Kuwait Investment Authority Fund.
