It was since October last year, a time when election tension was running high across the entire nation that Jessica González, Free Press’s co-chief, initially tried to sit down with the popular social media platform’s employees who were behind the spread of false news to specifically the Latino population in the US. The message that the platform conveyed to the minority group was that one of fear-mongering utilizing lies and half-truths. While she managed to flag these concerns during a meeting with Mark Zuckerberg and his team, the executives never gave her another opportunity to meet and to address these concerns.

The platforms conveyed these messages in both English and Spanish and relied on all the platforms falling under the same umbrella to get its agenda out to influence Latino politics in America. “We applaud and support all efforts to prevent political interference when it comes to the Latino population. Regardless of how upsetting and unbelievable it might appear that a giant in the social media industry would be so brazen to also include other platforms such as Twitter, YouTube, Instagram, and WhatsApp for their propaganda, this is not truly a surprise to us. The Latino population has been for years the target group of political propaganda efforts,” says Andrea Trujillo, the director of brand digital marketing at L’ATTITUDE.

She then expands on how their team is not only supporting the efforts of people who stand for the same ideals as their company but that they also go to extensive efforts to prevent these actions from taking place again. To this team, it is all about sharing truthful news and continuous transparency when it comes to Latino politics in the States.

She also expands on how the minority group is now the largest minority group in America and while the needs of the group are often still not attended to, there are political influencers who want to attract the interest of the Hispanics simply due to their massive numbers.

“This is simply unacceptable behavior and people from all over the nation must start to speak up about such actions taking place. It is our vision to stop extortion of local Latinos and to get the necessary systems and structures in place that don’t only recognize the contribution that this group makes but also protect them from unfair treatment, regardless of whether it is from political circles, corporates, or financial service providers,” Trujillo concludes on the goals and vision of L’ATTITUDE.
