Louisville, Kentucky – Dr. Margaret Smiechowski is proud to announce the opening of Louisville Salt Cave. This is a state of the art creation that will help residents of Louisville and the state of Kentucky increase their serotonin levels and relax because of the negative ionizing effect the cave provides.
“It is truly an honor and pleasure to help bring Kentucky, especially the residents of Louisville, their first salt cave for Halotherapy,” says Smiechowski. “Halotherapy is not a new phenomenon, it has been around for decades but is starting to truly catch on as people feel the extraordinary difference in their lives just 45 minutes of this therapy will make.”
Kimberly Rash, a massage and aromatherapist, and Nicole Bartlett, a nutritional marketing professional, are the owners of Louisville Salt Cave.
Rash says, “I have studied numerous ways to help the body naturally heal. Throughout my years of serving clients, I have been looking for the next best thing for them. Then, I discovered how life-changing Halotherapy would be for my clients. It was a no brainer to start this cave as a result.”
After Rash discussed her dream of building a salt cave with her friend, Nicole Bartlet, they began putting plans together. The first step was to contact Dr. Smiechowski, North America’s foremost expert on salt caves, to learn how to create a salt cave the proper way. Dr. Smiechowski has extensive education and experience in both traditional and complementary medicine. She has worked tirelessly for over two decades teaching others how to build salt caves and helping the world understand the benefits of Halotherapy. Additionally, she has a successful track record of creating numerous, simulated salt caves, from Colorado, Tennessee, to Vermont.

The Louisville Salt Cave will be constructed using the Earth’s purest, unpolluted, pink Himalayan rock salt from the Himalayan Mountains. This salt is 250 million years old and contains 84 traceable minerals. The Salt Cave will also have a microclimate by enclosing 15,000 lbs of salt crystals inside. A halo generator will then diffuse microscopic salt particles in the room to produce anti-microbial and anti-bacterial properties that have been proven to help decrease the symptoms of asthma, seasonal allergies, and many other diseases. One session of Halotherapy costs $45 and is for forty-five minutes. It is open year round and perfectly situated at 9800 Shelbyville Road, Louisville, KY 40223.
