Further the Telco also talked about the fact that the STV users demonstrate better retentivity as compared to non STV users, and hence an improvement in STV penetration will result in lower customer churn.

The ‘chota pack, bada dhamaka’ range of STVs have been designed keeping in mind the ‘affordability’ factor for the customer ensuring the non STV users will give these STVs a try and will then continue to use the same considering the price factor and ease of subscription. Customer will be able to provision these packs on their own thru a USSD utility by dialing *123*4# from the it mobiles. The range of these STVs being

Mr. Arvind Bali, Director and CEO, Videocon Telecom commented, “MoUs are under pressure and there has not been any noticeable growth in MoUs per sub in last 6 months. The usage in terms of Mins of usage of a STV user is significantly higher than non STV user, and this is where we see an opportunity to take our MoUs up. The plan is to increase STV penetration and Mous will follow.

We are positive that we will be able to grow our STV penetration by 8-10% within next 3 months and hence MoUs with the rollout of this industry first initiative of Chota STV, bada dhamaka STVs, where the price point will be the key factor for customer. ” Mr. Arvind Bali added.
