Marc Eckley, CEO of Fullcircle Facilities Management, commented this week that he had experienced no business downturn or negative impact from the ‘credit crunch’. He stated that in fact he has seen a rapid rise of Facilities Management contracts and business growth in this period.

“If you offer a good range of services, and deliver high quality customer service and always deliver the results. With high integrity and honest reliable service i.e.) If you say you are going to be somewhere at a certain time, then in fact the credit crunch is a big opportunity”

“Facilities Management is one of the fastest growing professions in the UK. Facilities Managers are responsible for many of the buildings and services which support business and other types of organisations such as schools and hospitals” BIFM (British Institute of Facilities Management)

By coupling good quality service and deliverables with understanding the current market place and embracing new technology we are going from strength to strength.

In the Economist it was noted that: “The downturn in the market has accelerated both individuals and companies use of social media such as blogs and social media networking sites.”

By capitalising on this opportunity and focusing on developing social web literacy in your organisation you could very well be on the road to success.

The increase in users in Wales both B2B and B2C on twitter is noticeable so much so that Wales and Cardiff have been added to the trending locations.

Basically markets have undergone a profound transformation after decades of top down corporate messaging. As you read this how you market your business is changing constantly. With this the way you conduct business will be changed for decades to come.

The international experiential marketing association manifesto refers to this development as a demand from the birth of the “prosumer” an enlightened and empowered consumer who no longer believes the promises of the strongest household brand names. These prosumers make their brand reliance based on personable experiences and relevant honest customer and friend reviews and referrals sited online.

Marc Eckley (MD Fullcircle Facilities Management) says that: “You must listen to what your customers and clients need. What they feel needs improvement and engage with them online. Social media is no longer desirable it’s now a necessity.”

The Economist writes that: “The winners will be those businesses that adapt intelligently to the new reality. The losers will be those who think they can win simply by telling consumers to ‘want it ‘ ”

Fullcircle Facilities Management has recently started on their social media voyage and has already noticed an impact on profile and proposal opportunities.

Fullcircle Facilities Management are also discussing building and developing their own social media platform internally for all staff. Inspired by linkedin to enable staff to network, have transparency of targets and K.P.I’s and organising team bonding away days and workshops.

Marc Eckley (MD Fullcircle Facilities Management) says that: Forward thinking, creativity and adaption to new technology is key for a modern day managing director.
