The National Alliance for Partnerships in Equity Education Foundation (NAPEEF) retains Scholarix e-Learning Solutions (Scholarix Inc.) to develop a custom e-Learning course from its Micromessaging curriculum.

Toronto – The National Alliance for Partnerships in Equity Education Foundation (NAPEEF) and Scholarix e-Learning Solutions (Scholarix Inc.) have reached a multi-year agreement with the aim of bringing NAPEEF’s micromessaging curriculum online. The goal of the developed course titled “Micromessaging to Reach and Teach Every StudentTM” is to address gender and culturally based implicit biases that occur in the classroom and that are manifested through micromessages.

“We are delighted to partner with Scholarix to address a critical need – access to high quality professional development for educators to support their efforts to increase participation, performance and persistence of underrepresented students in science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) says NAPE Chief Executive Officer, Mimi Lufkin. If we are sincere about solving our shared global challenges, we must provide the tools and resources educators need to support STEM learning to an increasingly diverse pool of students. Our partnership with Scholarix will support that goal.”

“It is clear from the research that cultural biases remain in today’s professional and educational landscape and while often unintended, these biases impact student and business outcomes. We are honored to partner with NAPE – a thought leader in this field – and help raise awareness through e-Learning” says Kevin Fernando, Co-Founder of Scholarix.

“It is imperative that educators within the K-12 and community college spaces understand the impact of the subtle messages that shape our society, classrooms, and the individuals within them. We are confident that our collaborative effort will yield an excellent online resource that will help address this need” adds fellow Co-Founder Adam Mastalerz.

The Scholarix developed course will be an interactive, self-paced, asynchronous e-Learning resource that is slated to be available Fall 2013.
