Claudio Cerullo internationally recognized expert on anti-bullying, and founder of Teach Anti-Bullying, Inc., (a 501 (c) (3) non-profit organization) was interviewed by Charron Monaye on how he became a strong advocate on the issue of anti-bullying. Dr. Cerullo founded the organization in 2011 with the aim of promoting awareness on the issue of bullying in schools and local communities. He works closely with parents, children, school administrators, and law enforcement in providing a wealth of information on how to tackle the problem of bullying.

When asked by Ms. Monaye as to how he became “such a strong advocate against bullying”, Claudio Cerullo said that in over twenty years’ experience of being in the education sector, he has witnessed a lot of school discipline, violence, and bullying, and wondered why children were coming to the school with so much anger and fear which ultimately led them to become violent. He further stated that after a patent workshop on the subject of bullying, and children with disability, several parents said that he should start an anti-bullying group, and hence, his organization was born.

During the course of the interview, Claudio Cerullo went on to say that the organization was national, and since it was a 501 C3 non-profit organization, they were providing financial support for victims and families in need. He also said that they help “students heading to colleges that provide leadership in the area of anti-bullying preventives.”

Claudio Cerullo has written four children’s books based on his daughter Isabella, as the main character in the book. He has written several articles and books, one of which was titled “It is Never Right to Fight”, and the book was dedicated to the many children who have lost their lives to bullying and school violence-related issues. He has also co-authored several other authors and written several pieces of publication. He wrote the chapter How Bullying Affects Academic Achievement in the best-selling book titled, “Amazing Grades”.
