Dal Makhani is an Indian delicacy most loved dish of India. A relatively traditional north Indian dish. It is mainly a mix of ‘Urad dal’, spices, butter and cream. Dal Makhani for vegetarians is as important as chicken butter masala to non-vegetarians

Dal Makhani was first invented by Sardar Singh in 1940s. It was Punjabis ‘Peshawar’s specialty. Peshawar joined us from partition.

They started their restaurants (Dhaba), where they introduced their specialty.





* History of Dal Makhani
The founder of ‘Moti Mahal’ restaurant chain ‘Kundan Lal Gujral’. Kundan Lal worked in Peshawar ‘Mokha Singh’s’ Dhaba ‘Mukhey Da Dhaba’. Mokha Singh sell his Dhaba to Kundan Lal because of his ill health. Kundan Lal renamed it ‘Moti Mahal’. The great food chain of Indian today.

Kundan Lal twisted Dal Makhani in his way, as he added Tomatoes and Cream. Before that yogurt used as souring agent.
